Bing is a cultivar of the wild or sweet cherry that originated in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. Bing cherries are available for a good portion of the year but when they're not, they can easily be made into jams or compotes. Eat them freshly washed or incorporate them into baked goods and other desserts. Bing cherries are always a favorite snack among kids and adults of all ages.
